Rifles vs weapons is important. Swalwell has only taken direct action against one of them via HR5087 which bans all sorts of pistols and shotguns.

If he said "rifles", then he's on record with an objectively provable lie and not just a vaguely misleading word salad.

That sort of specificity is meaningful to me.

I've already deleted my recording so can someone help me? Did Swalwell say "Keep your pistols and shotguns." followed by a statement that he wanted to ban assault rifles? Or did he say assault weapons?
As I recall, he said "keep your pistols, rifles, and shotguns..." but then said some crap about taking the "truly dangerous weapons" off the streets. Which I found ironic, since he threatened to nuke citizens...
I was curious how he would handle the "rifles" thing, but in true politician form, he just weasel worded through. He, of all those losers, is the most unpresidential of all, in my humble opinion.

Biden will crash and burn along with Bernie, Harris and most of the rest. Warren may rise but still not electable.

Tim Wildmon of AMA had an interesting theory I heard the other day and I’m sure others have said it. After they all go hard left and burn, Gavin Newsom will step in and take the mantle. Progressive but seems more reasonable and has been a hero to the left already.

Rush Limbaugh mentioned that Trump needs to go to California and make the press cover California’s issues with homelessness and the illegals and sanctuary cities policies. I like the idea and combined with the other theory, he needs to do it sooner rather to rule out Newsom. OTOH, waiting until he announces may leave an ace up his sleeve.

Maybe. With half value votes I don’t think they would carry enough weight to carry the weakest candidate and I don’t think there would be enough cohesion in the opposition block even at full value unless the race was fairly tight.

Or they might vote for the most moderate of the opposing side. If that were the case then it would force candidates to move towards the center or put those who were more moderate at an advantage.

I wouldn’t care for it in practice because I wouldn’t want a bunch of Dems pushing some Rino on to the republican ticket. Just something that crossed my mind considering how far the left has shifted in the last 10 years.

I don't think there is a Rino out there that could compete with Trump, look who he mopped the floors with in the last primary.

A candidate outside the two parties wouldn't have a chance and that would probably take away votes more from the dems.

You have to look at the voting also, for every dem that doesn't vote is a vote for Trump. For every moderate dem vote for Trump is like two votes for Trump. The only thing the dems have going for them is how many illegals they can sneak into voting.

Well, I disagree with Trump setting much standard in the last Primary. He had a bunch of nobodies who should have dropped out very early, and Cruz who was on his heals for most of the run and probably would have come out ahead if Rubio and Kasich had gotten out for lack of having a chance. I don’t think he really mopped the floor any more than we’ve seen in other primaries. There were just a lot of extra losers without a chance in the mix. Almost like a preview of what we are seeing now with the Dems.

I wasn’t really talking about 3rd parties. Anyone who is third party and wants a chance gets on one of the main party tickets (ex: Trump) and runs that way.

And I was also only talking about the primaries, not the general. The last paragraph is either something I’m misunderstanding the context of or maybe wasn’t clear in my previous posts. That said, I don’t see how a dem vote for Trump counts as 2 votes. Yeah, it’s not a vote for the Dem, but it’s still just one for Trump. Not voting isn’t a vote for Trump either. It’s just another person that will bitch regardless of who wins and claim they aren’t responsible for whatever happens because they didn’t vote.

Anyways, I didn’t intend for the thought to be taken all that seriously. And as I said, I doubt I’d like it if it were out in action. Just interesting to think about if candidates had to treat the primaries like they do the general. They all lie so it’s mostly irrelevant anyways.

    Rush is still a thing?

I guess he doesn’t pay attention. If he did he would know the media coverage would be about how terrible things are going and how it’s Trumps fault. Just like they blame Trump for poor conditions in some of the detention centers while the Dems refused to give any funding for the detention centers.

For now Trump just needs to sit back and shut up while the Dems destroy themselves.

You have to look at it in the context of the 2016 election, it was very evenly split. There is now, after I checked, over 200,000 that came out in the walkaway campaign. Most all of them voted Hilary. I can only imagine that there are many more too afraid to announce their intentions, and many more that will join between now and the next election. For each of those is a vote taken away from the left and if they vote for Trump, it's another vote. Not actually two votes, but the effect is two. One side goes down a vote and the other side goes up a vote.

Hell, why else would he have flat out admitted he wants to jack taxes for the middle class he thinks he needs to save?

Well you can be both a commie nut, a liar, and forget what you said 7 years ago. I missed where he said he would tax the middle class but I just caught the last 20min. The Dem party loves to increase taxes especially on the wealthy so that does not surprise too much. Their voting block does not pay much anyway so increased taxes is not a deal killer for them.

A lot was made of Kamala saying people did not want to see a food fight but know how we are going to put food on their table. I kept hearing a lot of pundits today say when did it become the role of govt. To put food on my table. Most of the mainstream outlets were saying if anyone won, she did.

They usually lie and claim they are all about the middle class. Just like Obama saying he would only tax the rich.

I cringed when the food fight comment was made. It was cheesy and stupid but she saw the opportunity to look like the reasonable one and grabbed. Excellent politicking I guess, but damn cringy. The moderators were definitely favoring her through the debate. I would agree that she came out the cleanest, but would have been much dirtier if they had called her on her past quotes like they did the communist grandpa.

Heard on Shapiro today that they actually shut off Yengs mic through a lot of the debate and he only got 3 minutes of talk time total.

Thinking about it, kinda crazy how everyone quite arguing when Harris spoke up. Almost makes me wonder if it was set up and other mics were killed to make sure she would be heard.

I think the MSM is gonna try to take Biden out of the race. They will get better rating with a Trump/Harris showdown and all the no names will be going after Biden anyways since he’s the easy target. Hard for them to attack a gay man or a black woman without accidentally stepping on an intersectional land mine.

Harris has Obama’s playbook in her pocket. She’s trying to speak like him and will try to go moderate as soon as the primaries are over, then if she got the office she’d go back to the left and try to legislate everything from the Oval Office. She claimed she would wipe out tax cuts via executive order.

I think the only hope we have is that the Dems get totally destroyed in 2020 forcing a Dem party reset.

All hearsay, but did hear one of the talking heads on Fox last night saying that Harris was Obama's preferred candidate. Those politico media types do get the inside scoop from their buddies in political circles. Kind of makes sense because he has never really backed his former VP in any public way whatsoever.

I said, most all voted for Hilary. I read and watched a lot of what's going on with the Walkaway Campaign. Many were taken by the hype, others voted because that was what many of their base voted. A lot of them are now being called Nazi's for turning away from the left. Even the founder admits he broke down and cried when Hilary lost.

It's good that it's meaningful to you. I think it may be way less meaningful to Duke Nukem.
He can still say that rifles are okay, but those darn MACHINE GUNS have to go. You know, the ASSAULT rifles..the scary black ones!

Perhaps but who in that nitwit party will actually do the voting? We also can't trust polls. Granted, just my opinion but I think DNC leadership will attack Joe and he will be gone. Did you see the results from the viewing audience? Highest amount ever in a Democrat debate. Bernie ain't a liar? He most definitely flip flopped last night when asked by the moderator about his 2013 statement on gun control being a state's rights issued. He then refused to acknowledge that statement.

You know why Trump does not wear glasses? Cuz he's got 2020! Well folks on the fence will need to come out to vote for that to happen. Hell, we've seen a silent coup already (granted it failed) but who is to say DNC leadership ain't cooking Plan C up now?

Younggun could be right that a good portion of the Democrats think the party is too far left. But does that really matter when the leftist extremists are getting elected and controlling the state and national houses?

This is somewhat similar to the business concept of opportunity cost. It is a vote the Dems normally would have had, which would have aided their candidate, but a vote they did not get.
