My wife's boots from Mercedes Boot Company. That's the VFW Auxiliary emblem on one and her logo as State Auxiliary President on the other. The ears have her years and her initials are MH. Outline of Texas on each. Logo reversed on back. That is the first time the VFW logo has been allowed to be used on boots. She picked them up June 12th, 2017 and went into office 2 weeks later. They have been all over the State of Texas in her year.

And she's transplanted Yankee, upstate NY.

Took the quiz. 32 out of 35.
Question 18 is incorrect. I answered Mercury. Quiz said I was wrong.
There damn sure is a Mercury, Texas. I've been there. It isn't much of a town tho.
Mercury is closer to being the heart of Texas than it's neighbor Brady (who clams to be the HOT).

Armadillo question was worded odd too. It’s not the state animal, it’s the small mammal, longhorn is large. I make sure my kids know the difference.

And to start another argument official food should be brisket.

I got 31, I'll take it.

And the Astrodome took damage from Hurricane Katrina? News to me. ;)

....and the saying, or slogan or whatever ya wanna call it for the last 50 years has been "Dont mess with Texas" put in place by the government themselves to combat litter.

Like Moonpie...32/35 but in true Texan fashion, I think they had 3 wrong.

The quiz also arguably got the wrong answer for "What is the name of the first multi-sport stadium in the world unveiled in Houston?" The answer they have is "Astrodome".

First, the question is flat wrong. The Astrodome wasn't the first multi-sport stadium. It was the first multi-sport stadium with a roof.

Second, the first of that type of covered facility wasn't named "Astrodome." It was officially The Harris County Domed Stadium.

I suppose I should cut them some slack because they asked the question in the present tense, asking "What is the name...?" and the facility is, now, the Astrodome.

Still, as others have already pointed out, that quiz is screwy in places. I got 32 of 35.
