I'll take this in a different direction, being quite sick of politics.

In college I was a math minor. The geek that took calculus for an easy "A".
In life, now and forever, I read things rigidly literally.

    My pet peeve.
Sales advertising something like "UP TO 90% OFF".

We've all seen it. Sale signs saying "Everything in the store up to 70% off"

I take "up to" literally. So do the merchandisers.
That means maybe ONE item on a back shelf is 90% off.
That means EVERY other item in the store is 0% or 2% or 10% off.

    Nails on a chalkboard.

When they say "comes free with purchase" too.

It ain't free, it's INCLUDED in price. If it were free you'd be able to walk out with just the "free" item.

"There are few things more expensive than a woman who is free for dinner."

I wish I could remember where I first heard that. :)

This truly bugs me: "I could care less."

Very few people who say that actually mean what they've said.

ETA: Apparently, I wasn't clear. Allow me to restate. Most people who say "I could care less" actually mean that they could not care less, yet they've stated the exact opposite of what they meant to say. That bugs me. Back when I was a young jerk, I actually corrected people on it ("You could care less? Really? So you care some. Exactly how much do you care? A lot?") but the reaction to my helpful educational efforts was almost always negative. I've given up trying to help those folks. :)

Use of the word "like" is driving me nuts! What the Hell is wrong with these Dimwits??

I post rebuttals on Yahoo when they post their Liberal garbage. Lately, they are stuffing the "news" section with preposterous anti gun articles in large quantities.

Oh.....the latest talking head anti gun bitxh is the drunken tart Amy Schumer. Why would anyone listen to that ally cat?
If all the prixks stuck in Amy Schumer were sticking OUT of her, she'd look like a porcupine!

Don't take offense, I agree with you but,

It bugs me when they say "I could care less".
When what they really mean to express is "I couldn't care less".

    :)
Oops, already expressed above by another poster.

    ........................

    or:

How about the prefacing statement "With all due respect". It's a technique to feign politeness when you know you are about to sound like a putz!

    "Common sense [insert legislation here]"

If it's common sense it doesn't require legislation.
    Good one

Although I think common sense was coined as a sarcastic phrase. I've come to believe there's no such thing... Especially in today's world... Hence why were need things like a label that says "contain nuts" on a peanut jar to prevent those with allergies from eating it.

Here is something I often hear from media and politicians "gun clips" now I doubt they are talking about an old Mauser which did take a clip or even a Garand M1. They are MAGAZINES! Just proves how much they research anything before they want to have a serious conversation about it.
