    Gunz are icky.
You bought a WHAT? Now with range report.

    A 9mm revolver.

    Tax refund Part deux

    Smith&Wesson Model 986
    5" barrel
    Uses moons

Saw this one many months ago and finally bit. Picked it up this morning.
Trigger is sweeeet. S/A is hair. D/A not bad. Will slick up with use.

Me thinks it needs stags? What say ye?

ETA: Took the new revolver to the range this afternoon.
Worked great. Zero malfs. One small adjustment to the rear sight and she was dead on. Fired 150rds.
The gun ranges that will not let you pick up your brass are gonna HATE this one!
Not only does that Moonclip allow quick loading/unloading, it keeps all your brass together. The Brass God didn't get his tithe today! Screw that guy. LoL!
All I had for ammo was that El Cheapo Independence aluminum cased stuff from Academy and a few loose R-P brass.
The targets are from 25 feet. Left is D/A, right is S/A
Learned a couple of things. 1.) No short strokes on the trigger. Gotta let it all the back out to reset. 2.) Will not fire ammo unless it is in moonclip.
Was a bit of a pain to load and unload as only have two moons. That has been rectified. Got 20 on the way with loader. Yay!
Still don't care for the grip all that much. Will run it some more before deciding on what to replace it with.
    Gun has round butt frame.

Stags would work. Ivory or bone would work better, IMO, but stag would do alright.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

I'd buy one, but I just hate moon clips!

    Loading them isn't so bad.
It is unloading moons that is a pain.
Easy solution tho. Several places make a nifty unloading tool.
It is just a tubing with a notch cut on the tip. Slip it over the empty case, slight twist and presto! Unloaded moon. MagLula in reverse. LoL.

I had the beautiful S&W N frame 6" Model 25 in .45 acp. It was accurate, a work of art in workmanship but loading and unloading the rimless .45acp got tiresome. I sold the gun to finance my Divemaster SCUBA training. I have the Divemaster certification but I miss the damned revolver!

I don't know why they can't have it head spaced in the cylinder. It'd make it a whole lot easier. At my CC class out in the field a guy next to me was shooting a 9mm revolver and I didn't see any moon clips but it was a single action thumb buster though.

I had my eye on the 40sw Charter Arms Pitbull 40sw revolver. This is what they say about it.

"Charter Arms has taken the difficulty of rimless loading and ejection to the simplicity of the rimmed cartridge in the revolver industry."

Sorry to take this off topic but what kind of range doesn't let you collect your own brass?!?!
