Finally got around to loading & testing these 165gr 9mm bullets.

As there was no load data I took the min 147gr load as the max for 165gr & used a Walther PPQ (+P rated) to give me some further margin. Starting at 3.7gr working up to 4.0gr in 0.1gr increments.

Also given how tall they are & the limited case capacity I avoided any Freedom Munition brass (with it's internal brass rim)

Outcome? all functioned flawlessly & no really significant pressure signs that I could see:

Whilst there isn't any load data for 165gr you can see from the other data that FPS is fairly linear with respect to charge for all bullet weights:

Out of curiosity I went a little further & built some linear models for true blue:

Big health warning for the following, especially if extrapolating beyond the characterized range, it's only an estimate & it doesn't tell you anything about pressure. But if we assume it's linear then:

    FPS(any) = 154.7 * Grains + 224.8
    FPS(147g) = 131.1 * Grains + 315.6
    FPS(124g) = 134.9 * Grains + 313.0
    FPS(115g) = 146.1 * Grains + 299.4

Doubling down on the health warning, if you look at the chart it's pretty easy to be out by 50FPS, some are 100FPS out (These could be filtered out by OAL etc...)

Either way if I used the 147gr model for the 165gr loads the 3.7g is ~800FPS (132PF), and 4.0g ~840FPS (138.6PF). As I had no sealing issues I'll run the next batch lighter.

    I'm estimating 3.4gr for 760FPS~126PF area.

    Really should get a chronograph.

I've been meaning to run that quickload simulation but when I went to do it today I realized u haven't installed in the new computer. If course I can't find the damn box with the key.

What program are you graphing with? Looks spotfire like.

Btw, I've got a guy who swears he is going to bring me a bunch of 7.62x39 to trade for 223 brass. If he comes through, you want that brass? Supposed to be all boxer.

Not sure if you've got me confused with someone else ;-) but I'm good for rifle brass.

Plotting was done with gnu/R and ggplot2.

I tested the 3.4 grain to 3.7 grain loads, all functioned correctly & appeared to seal properly
