I've been invited to go dove hunting but all of my shotguns are very... tactical. They don't meet any of the specifications to go bird or deer hunting, so I've been looking around and this Mossberg 500 model seems like a good bet since it comes with both a 28" barrel and a 24" barrel for slugs, if I am not mistaken.

Anyone have one to sell or have some input on this? Haven't actually been hunting before but it's something I've wanted to do.

    Helotes!
a buddy and coworker of mine just borrowed my Mossberg 500 .410 to go dove hunting with his son down near Devine. He's looking for one to buy (I was just about to post a WTB for him), and I fear if I don't he'll end up talking me out of mine since possession is 9/10ths of the law (that is how I obtained my Norinco AKM/47S! ).

About the only issue is the availabilty and price of .410 shells, other than that it's a great shotgun for dove hunting as it doesn't come anywhere close to the recoil of a 12-gauge!

Good luck with the hunt (both for the Mossy and the actual hunting itself), and if you know anyone selling a .410 Mossberg, let me know!

    Cheers! M2
