So i recently inherited a winchester 1906. In .22 short, long , and long rifle. Its in need of some TLC, to say the least. While I'm waiting on parts to get the bolt fixed, i need to sort out the fire control group.

Big problem is that when you cycle the action slowly, the hammer never resets. And when you quickly run the action, about 1/3rd of the time it doesn't reset.

I watched a dissassembly video, and ran through the FCG with a fine toothed comb, but i can't seem to figure it out.

All the parts LOOK ok, at least to me.

The gun does fire, or did before i took it apart, and the action can be opened both when hammer down and when cocked. I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
