I just moved to Killeen from the Midwest. Living in the Midwest I would trade rifles and pistols nearly every other week. Sometimes for mechanic special cars and most times for other weapons. It’s like pulling teeth here in Killeen.

There is also a lot of confusion about the new ATF rule defining who is in the firearms business and requires an FFL. I won't get into it here--just read this: https://www.texasguntalk.com/thread...-requires-ffl-rumored-for-fall.120276/page-29

Put simply, law abiding folks may not understand the rule well enough to feel comfortable selling or trading a firearms. Or, they may fully understand the implications of the law and realize that the ATF can now declare anyone who trades or even advertises (not even sells) a firearm is a dealer and prosecute them if they do not have an FFL. One bit of good news for all: Texas residents are exempt from ATF enforcement of the rule through 16 June.
