    Friends,

As some of you know, I'm about to have a SA "RVN Colt clone" (of a pre-1970 M-16) assembled, courtesy of one of our FINE members & want to buy a "basic load" of 5.56 NATO.
An updated source of decent FMJ ammo would be appreciated.
    (I don't load 5.56NATO.)

    yours, satx.

    jcrntx,

Haven't tried Academy yet but the "wally worlds" that I've tried had NONE.

    THANKS, satx

    Lockhart,

The last couple of times that I've been to the SAXET show (and the bigger gun-show in SA, too), the ammo prices were MORE than MSRP, in some cases 1.5 -2 times more than RETAIL.

    To ALL,

I found 100 rounds of Lake City green-tip at a bargain, from an individual who is "cleaning out his garage."
(That is ALL that I bought, except a canned Coke.)

LOTS of OVERPRICED Junque (That's that "fancy French junk"!!!), LOTS of "NON-gun JUNK" and numerous show-people who evidently think that gun-show customers are STUPID.
(I overheard an exhibitor tell a young woman that his 1970s-era, JUNKY-looking & lightly-pitted Model 10 S&W was a "GENUINE ANTIQUE" AND "a great buy" at over 500 bucks. = IF it was my revolver, I would have HOPED to get perhaps 120-150.oo for it, even in this "obama-nation".)

Incidentally, GT Distributers in North Austin, the last time that I was there 2 weeks ago, had several MINTY Model 10 four-inchers for 209.oo plus tax.

    yours, satx

freedommunitions.com has some decent prices. Supposedly they are in TX, but every time I've ordered ammo from them it's shipped from WA. Dunno what's up with that, but it's good ammo.

Their plant is out of state... Idaho I believe? Their store front is in Houston off of Jones/290.
