American soldiers test out their new Next Generation squad Weapon XM-7 6.8 x 51mm primary rifles. U.S.A troops have given their feedback on how they like the new platform that is replacing the M16 and M4 series. They also test fired the new XM-250 weapon system as well. In this episode about the U.S army infantry ground forces historic switch we cover the feedback.

    Spoiler alert: one round 6.8mm = $ 13.00 - $15.00, one round 5.56mm = $00.47

No way the new ammo will run $13 a round once they get into full production. Won't be as cheap as 5.56, granted.

It'll probably be pretty close. The training ammo will likely be pretty close in price to 7.62x51 but the combat ammo has a lot more going on.

You can't currently purchase the high pressure ammo.

You can only buy the low power training ammunition.

Apparently, that is incorrect. Most of what you can buy is lower pressure stuff. There are a few sources that advertise that they're selling the high-pressure stuff, and it's priced accordingly. I guess the tell is what kind of case the ammo is loaded into. If it's brass, it's low-pressure. If it's hybrid brass/steel, it's not.

The again, there may be some deceptive advertising going on here.

Thats still not the combat ammo though. Standard load is a steel penetrator tip. I don't even think it has ATF approval
