Not familiar with the 657, is that a 41 magnum?
awesome shootingYes, the stainless version of the 57. The mid-range reloads I make shoot really well. 215gr coated lead SWC with 6.5gr of Universal. 15 yards off-hand. I screwed up a couple of times but I do that. The .41 is wonderful, but you've pretty much got to reload.

I have never shot a 41 magnum before. Waiting to see one in the wild for a good price
That was my experience with my single seven and 327 fed mag. Regret selling it to this daySometimes you see a .41 Ruger Blackhawk for a decent price. I'd like one. It's an unpopular caliber so sometimes you can use that to negotiate. "Oh, I thought it was a .44.....I don't know about a .41?"
You'd be surprised how many people (under 50) never heard of it. Most of the RSO's I've run into in the last few years ask me what I'm shooting and have never heard of it. I hand them a cartridge and they look at the headstamp and go....????. WTF is that?
The 9mm ruined everything.
I don't shoot full power loads anymore. But I shot my fair share over the years. Some days, I still feel every one of them.
Loves me some .41 magnum. My Blackhawk really likes the Speer 210 gn Deep Curl and W296. Kilt my share of hogs with it and hoping to zap a whitetail with it this year.

That's just sad. Most of the RSO's I've run into in the last few years ... have never heard of it.

Very. It was a bit of a shock, but I guess if you weren't around 40 years ago? They are all pretty young and in reality it's kind of a crappy job that doesn't pay squat. I took the RSO course out of curiosity and the instructor wasn't really all that knowledgeable. He didn't understand the difference in the manual of arms between a Colt Single Action and a Ruger New Model Blackhawk. That's just sad.
...I took the RSO course...
I hold both those certs (I think; I need to check my renewal date) but I guess I've been lucky. My instructors have all been great....Certified Pistol Instructor Course...
