I thought so. I kinda liked the feel of the Para version when I had a chance to fondle one some years back. Fat grip, but a decent feel to it. Never had a chance to fire one though.

Picked up a 10/22 that is a little different from my favorite LGS yesterday evening. Didn't get a chance to take a pick of the actual rifle, but it looks like this one.

A little over a year and a half ago, Ruger announced the Wrangler. I bought a set of Altamont grips in anticipation of getting one of them. Availability was slim and the Wrangler was hard to come by. I lost interest and put the grips aside. I bought a Cimarron Plinkerton but the grips wouldn't work on it. Last week, I finally was able to get a Wrangler. Now the grips have a home.

    Gunz are icky.
    Against my better judgement..............
    a fluckin' Taurus TX-22.
Yeah, I bought a damn Taurus.

900rds down the tube and it runs damn well on 40grn solids.
It's had ONE dead snap on a CCI Mini-Mag 40grn.
It had a few chokes with HP's. Rounds nose diving in the mag.
Overall I have to say its a winner so far. So far.
It IS a Taurus after all.
I ran the ever living crap out of it today trying to get it to fail. It ran very well except for the HP ammo.
Out of 200rds of HP it choked seven or eight times.
Out of 700rds of CCI mini-mag it ran superbly.
    Those 16rd mags are nice.

Glad it's running well. I think Taurus is putting out some good products nowadays. At least I've been reading about the improvement in quality. They don't own any ZEISS metrology equipment yet...but they will. I really like the G3c. Not a single hiccup. They just released 17 rnd mags for it as well. Might have to pick one up. Was it below $200?

If you can, let me know how it does with Velocitors. I find them reliable in most semiautos.

Hit a couple of places for smmo this a.m.
Only thing i could get was these Aquila super extra HP’s.
At the range now continuing the TX-22 torture test
Didn’t clean the gun from the other days range trip so today it started out dirty.
Already got 4 mags thru it. One Failure to feed.

Just finished 10th mag dump. Still just the one FTF on that first mag
Looking good so far. Letting gun cool now.

    3DCA0EFE-53F6-49F7-A862-D5A7C6BDB0EE.jpeg

Finished with 500 more rounds. Total of three FTFeed with this ammo.
Still waiting for the failure. LoL.

ETA: After this trip I took the gun apart to study for any obvious problems. Other than being dirtier than Seeker Two's mind the only abnormality noted was some wear on the inside of the tab at the front end of the slide that captures the recoil spring rod.
The spring is a flat wire type permanently attached on the guide rod. On the front end that contacts the slide the last wrap of the spring has a square cut end. This small steel tab has worn on the aluminum metal of the slide causing burrage and metal removal/erosion.
I forsee this as a failure spot.
With heavy use the slide tab will eventually wear away enough to fail at this point.
I can see no other wear points except for some slight rubbing on the slide retaining tabs in the main frame. These are steel so I dabbed them with a bit of grease during re-assembly.

    Well dang...........

After finishing up the Taurus TX-22 range trip I dropped by the local gun pirates shop.
Mainly to see if there was any .22lr to replenish with.
No love there but what did I spy in the display case?
A flippin' Kel-Tec P-17! Its the tan colored version.
    Came with three mags!
Hawt dawg. Been searching for one for a while.
Yeah I bought it. Yeah I overpaid. But it is now My Precious.
As soon as I get done doing chores I'll be headed over to the indoor range to give it its initial range visit.
Woot! Loves me some .22 pistols.

Quickie range report. Ran great with CCI 40grn mini-mags. Only fired 150rds.
    It’s definitely Kel-Tec. Very lightweight.
    All polymer. Mushy trigger.
Mags are a pain in the ass to load. No tabs on the follower so you have to mush down then slide back the round. After 10rd it gets difficult. Tried using a BabyLula and a MagLula but neither would work. The MagLula could be made to work by grinding the tongue piece narrower. Mag body is too wide to even fit in the baby lula.
Sights are adjustable. Thats nice. Front sight has the colored glow rod.
mag release is ambi paddle type.
Slide release is the itty bitty tab up by the front left corner of the slide at the ejection port.
Break down is Glock like. Very simple.
