I dig out the old boxes and use them for my reloads. Boxes wear out after a while and it's expensive to purchase new (plastic) ones. I noticed at least one range trying to sell the old boxes for reloaders. I think they gave up as it wasn't worth the time and trouble. There are some "rich folks" out there that can afford to buy new ammo and leave the brass behind. (And when you see nickel plated brass, you know that's some millionaires shooting on the range!)

I suspect that trying to repackage and sell old ammo may be illegal. I don't know of anyone doing that, so I also don't know if they've gotten in trouble. I've seen some really ugly boxes of ammo for sale at gun shows and wondered what closet they were cleaned out of. I wouldn't trust those gypsies no matter what they're selling. They all seem to be able to pretend they're firearms experts while telling people outrageous lies with a straight face.

I used to do that, but I now just use ziplock bags to store my reloads. Takes less space and people won't think they are factory if I get run over by a truck.

I asked the as hole why he just didn't use baggies, and his reply was, that it would make people think that they were 'reloads'.
The bull shit just flows out of this guy constantly.

I work GunShows some times I have a neighbor the specialises in older Mil Surp. Has a lot of "odd ammo". As I understand, some of the boxes are worth more than the ammo.

I would like to figure out who you are referring to as the a..hole.

I typically just trash mine, never really thought about it. But ammo is pretty easy to find now so I wouldn’t overpay for it at a gun show.

For a couple of years I would scavenge the range trash for 9mm plastic inserts and discard the boxes. Finally got enough for my needs. The large white plastic ones that Blaser and Lawman come in are perfect fit for ammo cans.

Well, kind of forgot about this thread, the next show came & went, but I didn't make it, had the china/fauci bio-weapon again.
But my buddy reported the shit show at the azz hole's table.
He sold some guy some commercial 7.62x39 (well, that was what the boxes were).
The buyer got it home, and found that is was a bunch of mixed shit.
    Brass & steel cases.
Guy drove back, and was pissed as hell. He also was a friend of the show organizer.
Things didn't go too well for the ammo rip-off artist, and he had to give the money back.
Did the organizer tell this boob that he wasn't welcome any longer?
No, because he is kind of desperate to keep vendors there, and is a bit of an azz himself.
He can't understand that this kind of s#it is driving away patrons, which leads to vendors not wanting to set up there any longer.

Repackaging as 'brand' ammo is illegal 'fraud'. I used to tape the plastic inserts together and use them as reloading flats.
If so, would a well-placed call to the ATF (and dog killings) help? Or do they not care because there are no oil filters involved?

If you throw them away at the range, please tear them up.

I've seen a guy at the range picking through trash, and taking the ammo boxes home.
I then seen the same guy at a show with different boxes of ammo.
Seen some Federal 308 in a bullet weight I shoot,
He said he would trade for some of my surplus ammo at a considerable his ammo, to my ammo ratio, which I would be happy to do.
Figured I would take a look at it, as the boxes were a little roughed up.
What I found inside pizzed me off.

He had filled the boxes with some old surplus ammo, that had corrosion on it.
Looked through some of his other ammo, and same thing.
But he was asking retail prices, or just under.
Talked to a few other vendors, and they told me he gets bitched at by people that bought his junk at previous shows.

    I can't stand rip-off artists!
These are the type of people who give shows a bad name.
Gun shows give gun shows a bad name.

how is the ammo seller still going to shows and not expect someone that got ripped off to show up as well
Hell if I can figure it out...
Some people just cop an attitude that all shows, and vendors are bad, and never come back, which is pretty closed minded, and far from the truth.

The thing is, he's had other people come back, and jump his shit, just a couple of shows ago, someone came back with a box of CCI Mini-Mags, that was full of mixed shit.

Maybe ask the show promoter, Darwin.

Why does the show promoter put up with that? I wouldn't want to be a party to the fraud. I've seen people permanently banned from shows for less. But that was a while ago, I don't go to gun shows much anymore.
