This was the box of powder. Two 7.5kg bags. I bought some empty paint cans at home Depot and it perfectly filled 4 of them so a little over 8 pounds per gallon can. The can shown is the one I've started using. I've done ~ 1100 380s and 500 9mm. I'm gonna a have this shit forever!

I bought 15kg of powder via Facebook reloading group (red-eye reloading) for $360 delivered. S&B primers at $20/1000 at Cabela's. Free lead from tire guy at work. Powder coat from smoke on the CB forum. Electricity is cheap. Gas is basically free. Had a lot of tanks left after I got rid of my grill...

    0.02 primer
    0.00 brass
    0.00 lead
    0.00001 electricity and gas
    0.00001 powder coat
    0.09 ~6 gr powder

So I'm at 0.029 per 9mm. 226 rounds loaded in mags plus reloading once at the range. 9$ range fee at bracken. So I can go blow 450 rounds day for about $22.50. I highly recommend getting big mags!

The 380 uses a little under 4 grains so those are more like 0.025 per round.

I thought I had some pics of the powder coat bullets but I think I erased them. View attachment 150138

That's a bit more than $0.02 each. Your math actually shows $0.11 each. You left out a 0. You're actually at $0.03 each, a difference of 50% from your claim.

Yes, you're right. It should be 0.009 for powder. And yes, you're right. It should be 2.9 cents a round. Not the "just over 2 cents" I said before. My 380s are also at 2.5 cents a round. I may have mixed up the two.

Edit: the powder coat from SMOKE4320 on the castboolits forum is great stuff. I got 3 ⅓lb bags of different colors for 22$ delivered. I coated about 1300 9mm with it and hardly touched one of the bags for it. I'd say I probably used 2 table spoons with plenty left over to do more. I bet I can probably do 75k with the full pound of powder. I highly recommend his stuff if you guys haven't tried it.

I cast up another 1000 of these 9mm bullets. Put Hi-Tek on 600 from the last batch. Loaded up 200 of them for the next range trip. I paid $80 for the mold during the last sale. After the first 1142 bullets cast the mold is paid for. I'm at ~2000 bullets through this mold in less than a week.

I've got a bunch of powder coat that I've picked up from Rosey's and Prismatic. I use it or Hi-Tek but really lean towards the Hi-Tek. The powder paint I use for jigs and slabs.

I just picked up another three lbs of powder from Rosey's for $41 shipped.

    Same old thing.
Reloaded 6 boxes of Winchester AA .410's.

Oh, yesterday I reloaded a box of 12 gauge for lower recoil. A 3/4 ounce payload and only 12.5 grains of 700x.
The last box I reloaded @ 13.9 grains, the lowest published data, too much kick for me with my ill fitting sxs.

Sized, tumbled, and reamed another 500 or so rounds of 223. Now I need to trim them. I'm still not thrilled about that part.

Most of them shrank! How hot was that water??

Idk, must have left them in my pocket and didn’t notice the setting on the washing machine. Maybe I should turn my water heater down a little.

Those guys are cute. What the heck are they?

Saturday and sunday I primed 1350 223 brass with the hand primer, sized and deprimed 500 or so more 380s, sorted 1500 or so large and small 45 brass, then sized about 1200 or so 9mm bullets.

I was doing good until I found another small baggie of 9mm bullets I had powder coated but for some reason set aside and never primed. Well it turned out they were way too big and took way too much force on the press arm. After doing 3 (and Midway through the 4th) I decided to scrap them. Mid stroke the damn arm broke off the press again. The lee challenger had 2 sides of the linkage and last time it broke I just switched it to the other side. Now that side is broke and I haven't even ordered the parts from the first time it broke! I honestly was more worried the aluminum frame would break first.

After that I just sorted some other brass and stuff. I also took the time to rebuild 2 carriers for the pro1000 and my auto disk since I didn't have anything else I could work on. I've got several things to send back to Lee now. I can order 1 of the linkage halves for free and pay for the second plus shipping but I think it'll be cheaper to just send them both back USPS flat rate and they should pay the return shipping. Plus I can send in these 2 carrier bodies and get them replaced as well.

I think I'm gonna setup the pro1000 for 223 and see how it does. Anyone ever done 223 on a pro1000?
