I haven't been there in a while, but the Hoffbrau Steakhouse is a great example of old school Austin that likely won't be here much longer.

A lot of people swear by the Texas Chili Parlor. I've always thought it was OK, nothing spectacular, but like the Hoffbrau it's an Austin institution that's probably in the home stretch.

If you really feel like slummin', a bar on dirty 6th called Casino El Camino used to have the best burgers in town. I haven't been in a long time and I've heard they slipped a bit, but it's an experience to tell your grandkids about if nothing else.

Zilker Brewing and Hops and Grain are great microbreweries on the east side, not far from downtown, that usually have tasting rooms open. There are others but they've been sprouting so fast I can't keep up.

    Thanks guy.
Talk to me about Terry Black's and Lambert's BBQ. I have been to Ironworks before, and I liked it.
No one knows any coin shops?

The only coin shop I know of is the one inside McBrides. I'm sure there are others but I'm not a "coin" guy, so I have no idea. Anyway, go to McBride's and you can kill two birds with one stone!

I haven't eaten at either Lamberts or Terry Black's but I've heard good things about both. Lambert's is upscale and pricey. Terry Blacks is relatively new but apparently part of the famous Black's BBQ of Lockhart family.
