Having been around a long time, let me point out that Nixon was being attacked by the Left during his second election, AND he was being crucified in the press for Vietnam and Watergate. EVERY MEDIA PUNDIT was 100% sure he was going to lose. Libs set up huge celebration parties on election night, fully expecting to be in charge of the country the next day.
