As a telco tech, I I came across many things like this but in no way as bad, not even close. I used a tool to test a few items on a pole and a buried power line in conduit was exposed, the pole leaning badly. I was at ground level and about to climb it. When I touched the test probe to the conduit there was a terrible explosion and I felt a gush of wind pass me, and the tester blew out of my hand. The tech with me yelled louder than I did. Phone calls brought out telco execs, power company bigwigs, etc. If someone had walked up and touched the conduit themselves with bare hands... My safety glasses looked like someone had welded with them on.
