With a rifle you will have no problem, with a hand gun you will be hasseled,if you are not on your own property. We do not have open carry on public property here in Texas. You can be arrested for unlawful carrying of a handgun.
I plead the 2ndSome of you guys need to get with the program.
"Traveling" hasn't been an exception since 2007.

"Traveling" hasn't been an exception since 2007.
Here is the current law: PENAL CODE**CHAPTER 46. WEAPONS
Texas Penal code
Sec. 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY
(b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:
(2) is traveling;
THEY are with the program. Traveling remains as a time when 46.02 does not apply to a person. In your own link, look at 46.15 (b).
You know, we all make mistakes; but to be arrogant and condensending in your post WHEN YOU ARE WRONG.....
Best not to rely on the traveling exception for your handgun carry needs. IMO.so.....what constitutes "traveling"?
I would say that as long as you're not dressed like a bum or miscreant, you'd be fine with OC on monday morning too. The few times I've tried out OC (while traveling), I made sure to dress in a decent fashion (clean jeans, tucked in pressed shirt, etc) and not a single eye was batted (except for a couple of cute girls who would have used "is that a gun" as a pickup line instead of an accusation).I saw folks walking around with rifles and pistols OCing Downtown Houston. They were traveling to and from disperse parking areas to the gunshow at George R Brown Convention center. As Texas law does not distinguish between a loaded and unloaded firearm it didn't matter.
This would be "risky" on a Monday but perfectly normal on a Saturday. If there were any problems I didn't see them.
so.....what constitutes "traveling"?
