Reciently purchase S&W 617 and its a hoot to shoot, you can burn up lots of ammo!!!! I'm having a problem loading rounds and ejecting fired brass. The more you shoot the worse it gets. I am shooting standard velocity Remington target 22LR ammo. I need a few recomendiation for other types/brands to try?

Try something with coper plated bullets. Federal 550 from walmart the bulk stuff comes to mind. Winchester bulk is REALLY dirty.

It's not the ammo, specifically. .22lr is a bit dirty. As suggested (sorta) give it a good cleaning.
The Federal bulk pack has been as good as any for me. I do have loading and unloading issues with my single six after heavy use.
The remedy is as simple as a moderate teardown and a thorough cleaning.
Nice pistol and yes, absolute fun to fire a .22 lr through a full size all steel pistol.

Remington ammo, especially solid lead, tends to shoot dirty, and will "gum up the works" with powder fouling and the lubricant they apply to the bullet (and they are not the only ones).

Any copper plated .22 LR round, especially CCI, Winchester, and Federal will reduce the amount of fouling, but not prevent it entirely (powder residue).

The Remington "Golden Bullets" don't have all that grease on them, and shoot pretty good too.

Always take a cleaning kit to the range with you when shooting a .22 LR.

Every .22 Rifle/Pistol/Revolver (even of exact same model & manufacturer) has a preference for a certain brand/bullet combination that only experimentation will reveal.

That's why I keep more brands of .22LR on hand, than any other caliber.

If you own more than one .22, keep a log of which ammo your gun shoots best & most accurately.
