    they are only reliable as the batteries they are connected to.

    Think travel trailer refrigerator running on 12 volts
    They kill 2 batteries in less than 24 hours.

    So you need to have enough sun and batteries to go at least 3 days plus have a backup charge source.

    I had a recovered RV fridge at my place in the barn and found that I had to have 12 12v batteries in parallel
    plus 2 300 watt panels on the barn roof to keep them charged.

    When the panels where lost in Hurricane Ike I did not replace the fridge.

    Now, if you ran it off of the 12volt with a AC to DC converter then you would be good with battery backup
    for the power for a day or two and use the car/truck/tractor to recharge the batts
