BC, you're the education expert so you definitely have more insight than I do, but the simple fact remains that as a student you have complete control on where you go to school, who's classes you take, or whether you even go to college at all. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. If enough people do that, then yes something will eventually change.

It's unfortunate the state heavily subsidizes higher ed. The government's involvement is what proliferates the leftism in higher ed, and I definitely don't like being forced to pay for it.

Sometimes it is about right and wrong, like logic, mathematics, chemistry, electrical engineering....

I can't say that students are being specifically taught to "know how to regurgitate information." Especially in college, certain courses have to cover a lot of information in a short period. The problem is the students have no interest in discriminating between an established fact or theory that probably was in their textbook they should have been reading and some BS opinion that the professor is spouting. Many students really have no interest in learning and lack the necessary critical thinking skills that have to be brought to the table to actually learn. I thought about this at length and have concluded that these skills really can't be taught.

Your right most kids and adults lack required critical thinking skills. I don't have a problem so much with what he said as how ignorant and quiet the class was, or at least appeared to be. Should I be lucky enough to find that crazy woman and raise kids, if they know nothing else they'll know how to argue and think. I just hope yall are doing the same.

I understand that view. People need to raise their kids to not just go along with immoral things in the public sphere and to speak out in the face of actual injustice on campus.

Exercising your right to free association is certainly a good thing as well.

Higher education is going to have to change radically over the next decade, especially when it comes to the technology fields. I am hoping more and more private schools evolve that are affordable as state spending is making public higher education more and more unaffordable.

Sometimes I wish I got degrees in a different field, but I learned a lot along the way, not just how the socialist revolution is being carried out through public education but about intellectual honesty and academic freedom as well.

Fortunately I have been able to spin my education background/degrees into a decent although unstable career in the corporate world. My youthful ambitious plans to undo the socialist revolution within the public education system stalled out...when I found myself being an overpaid kickball instructor in a finacially collapsing system.

Then I moved to Texas and got to meet you hot dogs!

TL; DR Pick a good school/program/course/instructor or pick a good fight!
