A psychology professor at South Texas College in Weslaco, Texas, was seemingly caught on video last month comparing the tea party to the Nazis of the 1930s in Germany.
He then told his students not to “tell anybody” about his remarks — but one of his students had already started filming after he allegedly called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a “bastard” for using the name “Cruz” to win his election.
    (YouTube)

“In 1931, which was really interesting, the Nazis — people were kind of tired of them. They’ve been around since 1920, 11 years now. They’ve won seats — they’re like the tea party! That’s such a good example,” the professor said. “Don’t tell anybody I said that though.”
He continued: “But in the sense of how they politically came to power, there’s a good analogy there. That eventually people realized, ‘Oh, these Nazis are a bunch of nuts,’ ‘These tea party people are a bunch of nuts.’ I mean, the analogy really is a good analogy.”
The student responsible for recording the comments, who asked to remain anonymous, identified the professor as Dr. Blake Armstrong. The video was recorded during a Nov. 17 class and uploaded on YouTube the same day:

The student told TheBlaze he recorded his professor because he feels strongly that “it’s wrong for him to use his position as a soap box for his beliefs, especially with young, impressionable students.”
“This semester, [Dr. Armstrong] insulted Republicans about three times before this video was recorded,” he added. On this day, he called Sen. Ted Cruz a bastard for using the last name Cruz to win his election. I didn’t know exactly what he meant, but I decided to start recording.”
While the student said Armstrong’s Nazi-tea party reference is the most “severe” rhetoric he’s heard in the class so far, he argued “it’s very easy to see that he has a vendetta against Republicans and religion with an emphasis on Christianity.”

Most of these professors don't make squat. So they just beat the socialist drums.

Good on the student for recording this clown.

    Academic freedom goes both ways.

It's eerily similar how the rise of the Nazi party is to what is going on today. However, it's not the Tea Party or Republicans that it's most similar to. It's the Democratic Party (talk about an oxymoron ... where's that thread at ...). Racism was a huge part in the Nazi regime. What is going on today? Race wars that, IMO, haven't been seen for quite some time. Who's baiting these race wars? Liberals and those that lean left, more than anyone else.

This is the problem we've been facing for quite some time. These kids go into college thinking that these "professors" must know everything, otherwise they wouldn't be there ... right? For those that go in believing this, they become indoctrinated by the likes of those above. Education should not be about telling people that this is right or wrong. Education is about enabling one to be able to make an informed decision/conclusion on their own. Unfortunately, from kindergarten onwards (nowadays), they are only taught to know how to regurgitate information. I know the kids in my class hate it when I won't "just give them the answer". I might be only one person, and only come in contact with a small number of kids a day, but I won't be a part of the problem. I'd rather fight it from the inside. Luckily I've got a few good teachers alongside me that are actual educators.

WOW, you understand it, few do!!!! Good on you...

I have written on this many times. STUDY the rise of Hitler and the Nazis in the 10 years leading up to WWII. There is NO correlation between the Tea Party and the Nazis, never has been.

Hitler was loaded with charisma and a great orator, just like Obama and like Obama he was a narcissist and had a huge ego who saw himself as the smartest man in the world. He was good enough to get elected as a dictator...sound like anyone you know?????

Obama has NOT left office YET!

That's the part that worries me the most. We've already had members of the Democratic party wanting to do away with the presidential term limits. While I definitely pray that I'm wrong, I wouldn't put it past him and this regime that he has going to pull a stunt to try to keep him in office. I pray (and I'm not the religious type) because IF that does happen, it could and should be the start of the new American Revolution.

Yeah you can only compare our police officers to Nazis!!! Any other analogies are wrong and must be punished. Wait I guess Dems are fair game also, but absolutely no one else. Until someone decides otherwise of course.

You mean like RIOTS across the US by minorities and disgruntled whites who see him as the MESIAH and their (Demi)GOD, maybe a HUGE write in vote for a 3rd term by the same folks who will loot, burn, kill, rape and pillage

NOT sayin this will happen, just sayin he seems to be pushing for more riots and doing NOTHING to stop or even slow it down...

I forget who said it, but someone once said that, when Communism came to the US it would be in the form of "smiley face" socialism. You would be enslaved and distracted by the things you love, and you would come to love your enslavement because it would be "for your own good". At least someone's definition of "good".

He won't be fired and shouldn't. He has the freedom to say what he said, and he was making an analogy, so he has some cover there. I wish Hank Williams Jr. would have received the same latitude, though, as well as conservative professors when making comments against the left. But I am fearful when the PC police, on either side, has the power to silence a professor in an institute of "higher learning."

If you want to say that he his abusing his authority and essentially brainwashing students, I would say the students there are adults and are responsible for ultimately what the believe and do not believe.

The student should have stood up, told the professor he's dropping his class because he's full of shit, and walked out. "Higher education" is one of the least customer friendly institutions around, but as a student you are still the customer.

Go back and read. He wasn't making an analogy. The student started recording because he had already made some disparaging remarks.

He was, but was also using the premise of an analogy to make his disparaging remarks. Just a liberal wack job inserting his wack job opinions when he got the chance. But why can't he express his opinion, even if stupid? Did any of his students ever feel like challenging him? I frequently did, way back when in college. I have no sympathy for the students, they can either deal with it, challenge him intellectually, or drop the class. Now if he was failing or giving lower grades to students who challenge him or disagree with him, that is another matter.

Sometimes it is about right and wrong, like logic, mathematics, chemistry, electrical engineering....

I can't say that students are being specifically taught to "know how to regurgitate information." Especially in college, certain courses have to cover a lot of information in a short period. The problem is the students have no interest in discriminating between an established fact or theory that probably was in their textbook they should have been reading and some BS opinion that the professor is spouting. Many students really have no interest in learning and lack the necessary critical thinking skills that have to be brought to the table to actually learn. I thought about this at length and have concluded that these skills really can't be taught.

Why would anyone pay good money in tuition to listen to this Liberal Dick Head give a revised version of history? There were many Professors that I avoided for exactly that reason. Some are so full of themselves that they use their lectern to spout their personal philosophies. Walk out and DROP the class!

I avoided this type of nonsense at the University of Houston but I was a double major in Computer Science and Management Information Systems so the professors had no need to spout political propaganda. What majors are these students in to be taking classes with professors like this?
