Posted this on a fishing forum and received the expected range of responses. Thought I would share here:

Ok, so I am officially ready for the tinfoil hat club. This morning at 6 am I went outside to blow out the filter on my vacuum and happened to look up at the solar light on my flagpole. I saw a very large light in the sky flying my way. It looked unusual so I kept watching as it came directly over my house. I have lived by several airports and have seen a lot of balloons, fan planes, etc so I have a pretty good idea of what is in the air. I estimate that it flew over at about 1,000 ft, it was about 50 ft across and it had red, green and white lights all around it that flashed off and on in a slow strobe like fashion. By the outline of the lights, it looked triangular in shape and it made absolutely no sound. I live in the country and the only sound in the air was a rooster down the road but this thing was absolutely silent and it went by at about 200 mph because it stayed in sight for a long time and was directly overhead in good viewing position for about 40 seconds. It flew down to around Lake Palestine, hovered for a bit and then flew southwest.

I was outside of the garage and my cell phone was in my office at the other end of the house. I did not want to lose sight of it so I just stayed and watched. I kept calling my wife and got out in time to see it when it was 2-3 miles away but still clearly visible.

If it was a stealth plane, it was moving too slow and it was to large for a stealth helicopter so I really have no idea.

I have no recollection of any anal probes so I guess I am ok.”

The Federal gamenwardens have had military-style “silent” helicopters for decades. They make noise climbing, but hover & descend very quietly. I learned about this a very hard way, years back.

A friend of mines dad learned that lesson as well. But he REALLY likes to drink, and I wasn't ever sure I believed his story. He said that one had hovered very near to them, and they had no idea until the lights came on. They lost some guns and a truck out of that deal iirc.

In all seriousness, I can tell you about an amazing encounter I had at Loch Ness in Scotland. In 2002, my wife and I spent two weeks traveling around Scotland - from Aberdeen north to Inverness, then through the Western Highlands to Edinburgh. And we spent a beautiful day at Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch ness - that iconic, half-ruined tower that you always see in photos of the Loch. Unlike most tales of heart-pounding sightings at Loch Ness, this day was bright and pleasant, and the waters of the Loch sparkled in the sunlight.

These are my pics of the castle and the Loch. After exploring the grounds a bit, and walking to the lake shore, we decided to climb up into the tower to catch the view. And it was amazing. But...as we were looking out over the dark blue water of the deep, cold lake, I heard a rumbling. Sort of a low roar that echoed off the hills on either side of the lake. I looked around and...there it was! Faster than you can imagine, it sped by the castle! Low, mean, and with an ear-splitting roar that shook the stones and reverberated in your chest. Everyone jumped back as it went by - an RAF Tornado fighter-bomber, screaming so low over the lake we were looking down at it.

One guy near us said "What the hell was that?"

"Her Majesty's Royal Monster Patrol," I told him. "Keeping us all safe."

I saw a light in the sky moving and making instant 45° movements. This was in the 80s, so no cell video. I'm nuetral on intelligent life elsewhere.

I'm tired of the government lying or giving vague answers. I'm also tired of these so called experts saying crap like they have "inside knowledge but can't tell the public yet, but the truth will be out soon". Put up or shut up.

I didn’t know anything about this back in the Winter 1970-‘71.

I was set to go duck hunting with a Friend early one morning. About 4:00 AM, he called to say he’d been sick all night, but gave me directions to his blind.

Dog & I went out & found the blind, got in. As soon as I got settled, I noticed a very bright light in the clear starry sky. As I watched, it began moving then turned directly towards me and began descending silently.

After a few moments, I got scared, then panicked, ran back to car, & headed to town. Stopped at a small cafe’ which was just opening, told them what had happened.

Unexpectedly, they both broke out laughing. One of the guys was brother-in-law of the local State Game Warden. He had been advised by the Feds that they were going to use the quiet copter to try to catch some night hunters that week.

I felt relieved but pretty dumb.
