Shooting on the beach in/near Corpus Christi

Does anybody know about this place on the beach that you are allowed to shoot on the beach? I heard about this from an acquaintance I was just curious about it. He said that you basically have to have 4x4 to get there. Is there any truth to this?

There is no place to shoot on the beach in Corpus.

If you go outside of the city limits to the Padre Island National Seashore, firearms are permitted. However, I do not know if shooting randomly is permitted.

All of padre island up to the national park and I believe all of mustang island is city of corpus, (expect when you get into city of port aransas.

So your be subject to the city laws.

I've kinda looked around, and I know a couple places where you wouldn't get caught, but it would be shooting over a channel, and I'd imagine that wouldn't be legal. If it isn't you shouldn't do it...

But seriously, if it were legal, we the locals would be doing it....

And the locals do a lot of crazy shtuff on the beach!

In all our years down there I don't recall shooting on the beach being an option but I never considered it or looked for it.

The Padre Island National Sea Shore is Federal property.

I don't plan on trying it. Hell, that's why I have a membership at the shooting club. I was just curious about it.
