Seeking: Professional Position within Arms Industry

Hey TGT, I'm re-entering the job market, so maybe you know of an Arms related company with a mid-to-upper-management opening in marketing, operations, business development, or wholesale sales?

My most recent position was VP Business Development / Operations Director for a local beverage company. Before then I was the Brand Manager for an Austin-based sweet tea company, and before that I managed national marketing for a few other large CPG companies (coffee/ice cream/chips).

I'm purposefully looking to make a somewhat major change, moving away from the Food & Beverage / CPG industry and onto something closer to my heart and mind; The Arm's industry would be somewhere I could fit well with my experience in brand management, operations, marketing management, and wholesale sales; Where much of my existing knowledge base and skill-set would transition over nicely. Furthermore, because it's of real interest, I'd be able to apply personal interest to the job which could expedite any necessary learning curve.

Any leads, would be much appreciated...and rewarded if something plays out.

Apparently Colt is hiring across the board. Of course, they just filed for bankruptcy, - again - but I doubt they are going anywhere in the near future.

You might try that huge monster the bought up AAC, Remington, Bushmaster, etc etc etc....

Great idea, but that company is Cerberus Capital Management and I don't have a financial background. I looked them up and their just a $30B assets management company in New York. They own: Bushmaster, Cobb Manufacturing, Remington, DPMS, Marlin, Advanced Armament. Para USA, H&R, Barnes Bullets, Dakota Arms, Parker Gunmakers, and TAPCO. They're all functioning within Cerberus' Freedom Group, which Cerberus plans to sell, but so far has only rejected a $1B buyout offer.

Apparently Colt is hiring across the board. Of course, they just filed for bankruptcy, - again - but I doubt they are going anywhere in the near future.

I'd be all over those buyer positions, but they're all based in Connecticut. I just bought a house, so I need to find something that's in Texas. TulAmmo is based right down the street in Round Rock, the Glock position is state-wide sales, and Armscor, I actually pitched them on a Regional Sales platform model similar to what Glock seems to have in place...we shall see how they consider it.

    The hunt continues...

To make a better impression in your correspondence to the arms industries companies, I would recommend using "arms" rather than "arm's".

This is not the best time to be looking in that industry, as there has been a slowdown this year.
