I've seen this in real-time. The year we got concealed carry passed in Illinois we had a crowd the ISP/capital police estimated at 25,000 people. The local news reported it as 2500. Then two weeks later there was an anti gun rally that had about 500 people show up and they reported it as 5,000.
They would get early access to the convention center, video the seats when just a few people had showed up, video the speakers, then during the news cast cut back and forth from the images of the empty seats to the speakers talking, while reporting the "low turnout".
They are evil. If you are ever nearby someone in a crowd being interviewed, get out your phone and video the whole interaction. Then at least there is proof when they cut the interview to their agenda. Video yourself if it's you..
Take pics and vid of events while they happen. FORCE them to report the truth, or expose them.
