Is that an OMFS repair? I guess it guess it doesn’t matter though, surgeons will cut anything put in front then just to prove they can do it.

OMFS = ORAL & MAXILLO-FACIAL SURGEON.

This is a Dentist who studied for many extra years to be able to perform surgical procedures far beyond the capabilities of a regular Dentist.

Many of our younger OMFS Doctors also hold their MD’s.

OMFS Surgeons are most famous for doing the more difficult tooth extractions; but they also do implant bases, fracture corrections, buccal, labial, mental, etc. soft tissue repairs & plastic surgery.

Most are also our go-to Docs for all ‘’TMJ’’ problems, both medical & surgical.

Some of their works include corrections of congenital deformities and injuries. They often operate as part of a surgical team involving Anesthesiologists, Cosmetic Surgeons, ENT Docs, Skull Base Surgeons, etc.

Not all OMFS Docs have the same skills, interests, or talents.

They are considered equal of MD Surgeons, whether they hold an MD, or not.
