I have an idea for a heavy "machine gun" style AR-15 build, and I was wanting to see if adding a carry handle similar to those you see on RPKs was feasible. I tried searching for one, but I didn't get the results I wanted for obvious reasons... One that attaches to a rail would be ideal. If not, I'll have to do without.

    That'll work. Thanks. :)
    You're welcome!

Appears as if that carry handle may even be manufactured by the seller. Price doesn't seem too bad, especially as it is the only picatinny carry handle I could find anywhere.

Confirm your balance point. On a lot of ARs that's at the delta rind and the grip will be too far forward if mounted on the forearm.

Search terms are everything... and, I still can't find one on Amazon.

    What terms did you use?

Lol! Yeah... I didn't even notice that! Quicker than having to saw it off, I guess...

It's going to have a 20" heavy barrel and a bipod, so that should help to shift the balance point forward a bit. :D

I typed in "folding carry handle", and it popped up. It was Cheaper Than Dirt though, not Amazon (not sure how I got those two mixed up :o )

Might be why I couldn't find one on Amazon

That is the same supplier as the first one I linked on eBay. I think they may be the manufacturer.

I bought a few off a Chinese crap table at a gun show a few years back. I don't recall there being any manufacturer marked on them.

    I will look shortly.

That's laugh-out-loud funny. The listing says "QD Folding Carry Handle" but the picture is clearly of a handle that requires a tool to remove. :)
    Just finger tighten it.
That makes it QD I'll suppose.

For $10 they are quite functional.
    I "improve" everything.
The rod that goes through the picatinni part was quite floppy.
I took out the allen set screw. Whacked the pivot rod on my anvil to make it a bit oval and lock tighted the set screw. No more flop.

    Buy it.
    Let us know.
    Balance, predictably, is way-variable
