I'm not really a rifle shooter but I took my Wife's Savage .17hmr to the 100yd indoor range today for some exercise. discounting the 2 shots in the "red" my grouping was 1 7/8" - not too bad, for me - would like to take it outside and run the distance out some - also shoot some fun targets at 100yds (lollypops)

Going to the range on a Tuesday morning... sweet.

Shooting 100 yards indoors... color me jealous!

You should be able to get 1 MOA groups at 100 yards, especially indoors. Major Kong picked up a Savage 17HMR a few months back and has been getting some nice groups shooting outdoors (American Shooting Centers - Houston).

perhaps I "should" but I only shoot the rifle roughly every 8 or 9 months so I'm just happy to see if it still "works"

Sorry, wasn't trying to knock your shooting skills. What I meant to say is the Savage should be capable of 1 MOA.

I'm still trying to get me and my 10/22 to be better than 1.5 MOA at 50 yards!

I didn't take your post "that way" - just explaining that I don't shoot the rifle much - perhaps 4 times since I bought it for the Wife (but would like to shoot it more - just too many pistols in the rotation
