If one resists during an "unlawful arrest", can a "resisting arrest" charge stick?
You can resist, but you will still be arrested, one way or another.
Once a cop has his mind made up to arrest you, you just need to shut up and stop talking. In fact, the less you say while interacting with most cops is generally best.
You won’t reason with them..that never works no matter how compelling your story is.
Ask any cop how many people have talked themselves out of getting arrested.
I bet it’s less than one.
Also ask any cop how many people have talked themselves INTO getting arrested.
I bet it’s far greater than one.

It is basically a permission slip for a LE DELIVERED asswhoopin on the scene.Resisting arrest is one of those things that might be right and might be legal, but is pretty much never going to work out for you, no matter how right or legal it was in your case.
Ch. 9
c) The use of force to resist an arrest or search is justified:
(1) if, before the actor offers any resistance, the peace officer (or person acting at his direction) uses or attempts to use greater force than necessary to make the arrest or search; and
(2) when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect himself against the peace officer's (or other person's) use or attempted use of greater force than necessary.
Doesn't mean it is the wisest course of action.
