Coming home from the Doc’s a while earlier today, I noted Dog was lonesome in pen.

His pen has corrugated fiberglass roof under a live oak shade tree. It is nice, with running water & its own sewer. That means more frequent pen clean-outs in Fall. Seeing a bunch of leaves & acorns, which don’t work well in the sewer pipe, I used my broom, swept them out, then grabbed the hose to clean the dust & tiny things.

Mind elsewhere, as per usual; my duties were interrupted by what sounded like a burst of full-auto fire very nearby.

Before I reached for the EDC, I luckily recalled that I wasn’t in Florida any longer, so I didn’t need to return fire to the acorn-dropping-to-dog-pen-roof live oak.

Life goes on, albeit very slowly, on the Bayou in photo background.

My new boy Brownie(has a sister named cupcake) prefers his crate sometimes. It’s like his safe space. Sometimes him and Holly Golightly go in there together.

I use that type of collapsible wire crate when traveling with Beau in hotel rooms. Most LaQuinta’s are “pet friendly’’.

My hunting Buddy Gil-Bob can set a crate up so fast it is like watching magic.

    We keep 2 size crates.
