I’d say throw this in the conspiracy thread, but instead I’ll just advise everyone throw their money in the FDIC regulated bank that promises you 1000% interest compounded by the minute since .gov decided everything everywhere is FDIC guaranteed all at once.

FML. Literally the federal government is saying not only is it ok for bankers and regulators* to be incompetent, but you’re safe from their incompetency.

*Unless the regulator is ATF, then you are punished for their incompetence.

Not mom and pop, when you realize probably less than 10 percent of those depositors had 150 grand or less in the bank. Most had millions or billions tied up in there. If the FDIC only pays out upto the max insc per depositor then ya its about the depositors. If they start paying out billions then it's a kickback to dem donors. OR a bailout.

We shall see. Old Velma, er old yellen said no bail out for those 2 banks. We're not doing that anymore. I don't have any great faith in her words.

Time will tell.

But I think there’s inherent risk with accounts larger than FDIC Insurance.

The disclosures for it are pretty prominent and well-known, methinks.
