Recommended shops near Galveston?

Will be taking a work contract in Galveston for a while, recommendations for local shops in the area?

I've been there 4 times on vacation over the past 10 years, and the only place I've been to there was Academy to get some ammo.

I live near Galveston and for the life of me cannot think of one good shop in town. Cabela's is on 45. Academy, of course, a couple in Texas City. Texas City has a Municipal gun range that is reasonable. TX Gun Club is also an indoor range.

Necro-reply: The shop in downtown Texas City is AWFUL.

Charged me $700+ to RUIN my good M77 7mmRem Mag.

I asked for a re-blue & added recoil pad, explaining that I needed longer ’’l.o.p.’’

Got it back with a CUT and varnished stock about a year later. Was too short even for a 5’3’’ in-law.

I would sue for that. Why did you give them the $700? They owe you that plus the value of the M77 before they ruined it.
