I have prop guards on mine and I've already broken one set. I have little RC experience so YMMV. as cheap as they are for mine I see no reason to not have them. Not sure how much the DJ ones cost or if some third party makes them on the cheap.

But I had a back up plan
Walmart online had it for $399 and I had them price match
Then they showed one in stock and couldn't find the damn thing
So I get to go back in a few days and pick it up when it comes in

Looks like it at least got out of the box working. Which is an improvement over your Caldwell chronograph.

I was locked and loaded, but I didn't want to be that guy, lol.
But, there's still a chance...
I'm actually a little intimidated by it now that its here
its just sitting there in the box, I cant bring myself to get it out yet
There is alot to do to prepare for even the first flight. Charging everything, updating firmware, calibration, , I don't want to mess it up, so I am going to take my time

If I were you, I wouldn't tell us if you wreck it.
Hot Damn! I got to fly it just now for a few minutes in the front yard
I had to update the firmware and make alot of settings in the control ap.
I still never found the compass calibration, so I got to get back to that one. But when turned everything on, it aquired 10 satelites and everything was a go, so I did a auto take off and hovered in the front yard for about 5 minutes, moving it side to side and front to back.
The controls are smooth, but I'm still a bit nervous so I kept it under 20 ft. I used the auto land feature and it sat down smooth
one thing is that if your grass is cut tall like mine, its not a good stable take off or landing as shorter grass or another surface would be, but its all good
My 17 yr old son pulled up from work while I was doing this and I saw the jeaolsy in his eyes...yeah, the old man got the skilz!
