I want to believe this is the case
Explains a lot about our country - not just the teachers - as most folks could not have found Ukraine on a map without a a map app before this started (and probably still could not now) - let alone understand the who and why of the situation.
We would all be better off if everyone understood and acknowledged this simple fact. Gun ownership at its core is an ethnic identity, not a consumer choice. People of arms do not cling to guns any more than people cling to their own hair.

Don't blame all the teachers, please. I spent 30 years in education as a teacher and an administrator. As in any vocation you have good ones and crappy ones. And even the ones that graduate with a certificate don't know how they will preform until they get in front of a classroom full of students.
My apologies, stereotyping is unfair to individuals. Unfortunately, I also know that being a "good" teacher - that is able to teach kids effectively - are not always the ones that can stay in the field or even allowed to stay in the field.Don't blame all the teachers, please. I don't know about the situation in the picture but it bothers me that I absolutely know that comparable scenes have played out in real life. This shit should be included in speculative fiction as a part of some post-apocalyptic societal horror but it shouldn't happen in real life.
