Bonjour. I saw this on the Internet, so it must be true.

Even if it is, I'm not sure what it means.

I suppose it depends on how purple the Metroplex is now.

The numbers are probably correct. I had occasion just this week to set someone straight about Houston and his impression that it wasn't very big, as cities go. The Great Houston area (technically the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area) had an estimated population of 7,510,253 in 2023. If it were a state, that would rank it #15, coming in after Washington (7.8 million) and pushing Arizona (7.4 million) down to #16.

Don't worry about the metroplex. It includes deep red Collin County, probably part of deep red Parker County, and mostly red Tarrant County. Yep, Dallas is pretty blue, but Texas is red, period.

With all due respect, Hillary voters thought it was a 98% sure thing she was going to win in 2016. Don't get complacent, don't be overconfident, even post debate all the national polls and most of the swing state polls are within the margin of error. Donate, volunteer, and above all make dang sure you get out on election day (or early - regardless of what you think of early voting, as long as it exists we're doing ourselves a disservice if we refuse to use it) and vote.
