Typical "modern liberal" response from those people. Emotion and deflection as opposed to logically considering the facts.

Another interesting thing to ask would have been to those that are there on academic scholarships: how about peeling off some of that scholarship funding to help those less fortunate? Maybe those who come from a wealthy family could help some of those who can barely afford to go to college? I bet you'll get similar answers... "But, but... that's mine, that's different!". Damn oxygen thieves...

LOL, someone on the forum I lifted this from suggested it was invalid only because there isn't such a thing as a "1000 GPA". I told him that a 4.0 GPA in college was as far from attainable for me as are Gates' billions...

The worst part about all this is, since modern liberals (far different from classical liberalism) are so over-emotional, act and think based on emotion, it's tough and sometimes impossible to make them understand. You could be as right as right can be. You could have all the supporting facts in the world, to the point that there is no doubt whatsoever that your position is 100% right. However the delivery is everything. If you stumble one little bit in your delivery, you start throwing out the occasional "um", etc then in their mind they automatically win and their position is right. Do you all understand what I'm talking about? Some of these people you just can't convince. Some of them, although they have mental/emotional problems, can still be convinced to actually start to see the truth, but you really have to be charismatic, confident, and perfect in your delivery otherwise you lose them completely. They are emotional people. They don't deal with logic and fact like us, they deal with what sounds "good". We're all guilty of occasionally letting our emotions get the better of us, but that's how they live all day every day.

Yes, I know what you're talking about. The delusions these people are suffering under are terrible. One person on the other forum even suggested that it's "different" because GPA is an indicator of performance, where money isn't. If my paycheck isn't a measure of performance, what the hell is it?

That right there is an indicator that they only listen to what they are told by popular culture.
If those dumbasses would use their heads for once, they would see that it is indeed the exact same thing!
Newsflash sheltered college idiots: In the real world, your paycheck IS an indicator of performance!

Oh well. Such things are difficult to explain to a socialist.

Yeah, I know. My paycheck in particular is tied to how much I know (pay rate is determined by that by my boss and I) and how many hours get billed out on jobs I do. If I don't get many hours because I was slacking, I ain't going to get much money. If all I can do are oil changes and brakes, I'm not going to have a good base salary and won't get much money.
