So, destruction of fossil fuel vehicles by the Left is a victimless crime? And in the second article one writer says they are afraid the activities will become more violent to include attacks on women charging their EVs at night.

Haha, they try to frame this as fossil fuel correct people vs tree hugger leftist EV people. The reality is likely crack or meth heads cutting the cables to sell the wire so they can get their next fix. Of course they won't admit it as this could never happen in their leftist utopia.

As RA alluded to, just wait until the thieves realize the wiring can be sold for a few bucks. All the Dem run cities where the chargers are more prevalent will be in a fix.

Establishing DC fast charging can cost upwards of $100,000, I’ve been told. The U.S. Department of Energy seconds this, the charger itself can range from $10,000 to $40,000, and establishing service to the charger can run upwards of $50,000, partially because DC Fast Chargers require three-phase, high-voltage power. link

Did not know fast-chargers were 3 phase. That is big increase in installation cost as an add-on.

Homes are wired 3-wire; single phase. Businesses that consume more power opt for 3Ø power when they run large motors as they are less expensive to purchase and are better suited for large-power applications. Phase convertors are inefficient, so the supply wiring needs to be setup properly from the get-go.

That being said, there is no reason for the charger itself to cost that much. It's another tax, money grab.

Residential is 230 split to 115. 220 3ph is much more practical for chargers. The SERVICE is the major cost! Probably most will just drop line from the power line transformer to the charging pad. Had a couple idiots try to pull the wire out of interstate lighting lines, didn't end up well.
