Yep, I know of several guys on the gun forums that do that. Made themselves available and they get the call on the "special" or "I dont want it" or "cheap" etc type guns.I never saw a GOOD guitar in the music section. They must have a REALLY GOOD customer that has 'dibs' on that stuff!

I have a few people on my "call first list" For all types of firearms. Almost all of my guitars are on consignment from my "Guitar Guy"; he helps me keep my rack full of decent stock.Yep, I know of several guys on the gun forums that do that. My kid does Guitars, he's hooked up in a couple of pawn shops in Houston.
You ever fish Mayfield Lake when you lived in Portland?
Isn't that in Washington? You ever fish Mayfield Lake when you lived in Portland?
I thought so, although I've been there I hadn't fished it. There are many good trout fishing lakes in Washington and Oregon, but I preferred the steelhead and cutthroats out of the rivers.Yep. Best trout fishing I ever did. Its up I5 from Portland.
So what did you do with it?One of the local pawn shops has a S&W M66 that looks like its been put thru a meat grinder. Non factory grips. Rear sight damaged beyond repair. Bent crane.
ONLY $899.
Reminds me of my Yugo sks I bought from a couple worker in 04 for $60.I find deals in pawnshops occasionally. Not everytime and not on everything, but sometimes. This was a score I found this past Sunday. Matching numbers early type 56. Would not function because of the Cosmoline packed in it. Marked as a non working Chinese SKS, which I guess was correct as far as they knew. $125 plus tax OTD. Not the prettiest SKS I have, but after a little work it functions well and the bore is pristine!

Did you ever fish walleye below McNary Dam? In the 80's the Burbank sloughs was my favorite for bass. If I wanted trout, Lake Sacajawea above Ice Harbor Dam was always good. And the Walla Walla where it dumps into the Columbia was a good spot for channels.Best trout fishing in Washington?
The seep lakes below O'Sullivan Dam. If ya knew what you were doing 100 trout per day was easy. Stream fishing? Touchet river.
Searun Cutthroats? Elochman River, also good for steelhead, coho and chum salmon. I've caught all four in one day there.
Best steelhead fishing ever? Deschutes river back in the '80's, in September and October when the Snake river fish would stack in there for the cooler water. My best day was 53 steelhead in one long day. Way back then the state park was deserted after Labor day. Now it's a madhouse. Also Ringold Springs on the upper Columbia was really good during the '80's. If you knew what you were doing you could easily get 2-5 fish per day from May through October. Of course the East fork of the Lewis river was really hot during that same time and up till the floods in '96. I caught over 100 fish per year on the East fork. The Washougal wasn't bad either, if you could deal with the inbred hicks that made it home.
I spent 9 years in Kennewick after I got out the the Marines. Worked in a Sporting goods store for most of that time. Fished and hunted my way though my first marriage. Moved to Portland in '89 and fished that area till '93. I told my fishing buddies that the year that I couldn't manage to catch 100 steelhead was the year I'd hang it up. In '93, with 110 days of fishing on the books, I only managed 88 steelhead. '94 and '95 were pretty poor years too according to my buddies. Then the floods of '96 hit in the spring and totally washed out the Washougal, Lewis, Kalama, Cowlitz, and any other rivers in that area.
Of course the "wild fish" purists lobbying the ODFW to stop stocking smolts hurt a lot of those rivers too.
