    Yeah; more and more "Flock" systems keep popping up all the time. You never really know if a municipality or even an HOA has them installed. But they really do some amazing stuff and evidently are very good at reading license plates and distributing information quickly.

    Best example I know of is a friend who lives up near Highway 6 and 290. Back a little more than a year ago he had a 2nd car that needed a hefty amount of work--like $5K worth--and he had let the registration expire. He finally decided it was better to get it fixed than to sell it as-is, so he took it in and got the work done.

    Afterward, the shop told him that he needed to put 50 or more miles on the car before they could perform the inspection to get it registered. He set off to drive it around the area over a couple of days. The second day he was headed south on Jones Road, went under 290, and was going to FM 529 to loop back to Highway 6. He got lit up before he ever made it to FM 529, which is less that 3/4 mile from 290. It was a Jersey Village cruiser.

    He explained the situation and showed the officer the repair paperwork and all was good. The officer told him that the Jersey Village traffic camera system had seen his plate while he was stopped at the light at 290 and flagged the registration as expired. Evidently the cruiser had been in one of the retail center parking lots on the north side of 290 at Jones (that's up where Harbor Freight Tools is), and had been alerted quickly enough that he left and caught up with my buddy before he got to FM 529. You can see from Google Maps that the Jones and FM 529 intersection is already outside of the Jersey Village jurisdiction.

    Big Brother is watching...more and more.

    He won't appear on the Texas ballot because he didn't get the required 113,000 signatures, but he expects to be a popular ballot write-in candidate. And it looks like did get the necessary signatures to be displayed in the Tennessee ballot.
