The left supports it and they have for as long as I can remember.
RT is russian state media and russia has a vested interest in supporting Iran, Hamas and pretty much any group that could cause political or economic disruption in the west. RT doing a story about extremist islamists is less likely to be in good faith reporting and more likely to be to stir internal fighting (like the russian trained snipers at the Ukrainian Maidan anti-corruption protests in 2014 shooting protesters AND police to incite both sides to violence)
