I just found the NY Post article before coming here. Have watched two local, Houston TV stations' coverage of this in the past hour. Neither one of them mentioned--at all--that at least one of the murderers, the older one (28) had entered the country illegally at El Paso last May 28. He claimed he was in fear for his life in his home country of Venezuela (and given what he just did, he may well have been in extreme danger...but possibly for very good reason).

And notice that the recently updated timeline of events from KPRC, the Houston NBC affiliate says absolutely nothing about the illegal status of the killers, either.

Left-leaning media outlets are, so far, despicably sweeping the illegal immigration issue under the rug. It matters. The federal government has little or no clue who the illegals are, or where in the country they are. This is an engineered crisis, and 12-year-old girls are paying the ultimate price.
