So basically, it sounds like its a ball of gelled rocket fuel with a hollowed out center and a hole leading to the center. They put the explosive/incendiary compound in the middle and light it. Then that hole acts as an exhaust and it starts shooting bouncing around igniting the entire room/compound that it's set off in.

This is pretty sweet! I wonder how they get it to their target and light it without putting any of our guys in danger.

"This is a part of the US Air Force Heated And Mobile Munitions Employing Rockets (HAMMER) program. That's right, an organization called HAMMER has invented flaming, flying balls of destruction. Our world is slowly but surely devolving into a Marvel comic book.
The Patent Application for these devices describes the objectives of this weapon and its delivery.
They fitted a bomb full of these fireballs that is not designed to deliver substantial damage to a target, only to deliver the fireballs, so that it can collapse on itself after heating up the target to a thousand degrees for long enough to destroy contaminants and the structure of the building.
Modern warfare has been evolving in the direction of the use of precision-guided weapons to kill targets such as buildings and storage facilities used by terrorists in the midst of areas occupied by civilian communities.
This places a premium on weapons that minimize collateral damage while efficiently destroying the occupants and/or contents of these structures. These requirements call for the development of a new class of weapon.
Of high interest is that the trends in recent world events have made it clear that armed forces will increasingly face hostile forces, such as terrorist groups, armed with nuclear, biological and/or chemical (NBC) weapons.
The patent describes over twenty different versions of this weapon, all tailored to different circumstances. One is disc shaped."
