Wow! I never knew that bit of history. My dad & uncles fought in europe during WWII. Growing up I watched all the movies & came to the conclusion the Nazis had some bad ass weapons. My dad & uncle's seldom talked about the war untill they were basically dying. I figure those movies & playing army as a kid started my love of guns.

Later in life having had the opportunity to shoot Nazi era guns like Lugers, P38's & the MP 40 my opinions changed. Shortly after that I came to the conclusion that my 1911 beat both the Luger & P38 hands down. Same thing after shooting the MP40, I'd rather have a Thompson or Grease gun. About that time I started really thinking a lot less about the Nazis as being bad ass. It was probabally at that age I started to become more patriotic. Really appreciating what my dad & uncles did.
