I was fishing at a lake above Renton, Washington about 100 miles north of Mount St. Helens when it blew. For about an hour I hadn't gotten a bite and all the sudden fish were jumping all over the lake, a few minutes later I felt what I thought was a sonic boom, I had no idea what was going on. About 15 minutes later I saw many planes and helicopters flying south, I ran to my car and heard on the radio that she blew. They had predicted Mount St. Helens would blow so many months before that I had forgotten all about it.
