After the 80s, VX-4 was no longer allowed to have the Playboy bunny as their tail flash, sadly. It's not PC.

Me too. From 1965 to 1970 I was building and testing the inertial navigation unit for the F4 Phantom, the Integrated and Attack and Nav system for the A6 Intruder and the 'Analog Computer' guidance system for the F111 at Litton Industries in Lubbock. Just into my 20's, got my first security clearance.

I grew up with RF-4C's and F-4D's from Bergstrom AFB flying over every day. I knew that engine sound by heart.

My son was a crew chief on the Bergstom AFB F4s until they transitioned over to F 16s. He spent 12 years working the flight line there.
