Good Morning Texicans. Went to Austin yesterday to hang out with baby daughter her hubby, my sister and her hubby. We went to Terry Blacks for bbq lunch. Holy cow that place is busy busy. There was a huge line to get in, but it only took 25 minutes. We all ordered brisket ribs sausage and beef ribs. Bill was $275! It was really good and my BIL paid.

Driving to Austin there was a line of cars 2 miles long headed west on Hwy 290. Pagans headed to the big town for Eclipse Day. Supposed to be cloudy so not sure how that viewing will go.
Is $45 per person a normal bill for a BBQ lunch place? Yikes

must be really, really good or really, really famous place or both

    You reading my mail.
Dreamed about the original Blacks BBQ in Lockhart a couple nights ago, and those amazing beef ribs.
    .
Since I've never seen a beef short rib in a BBQ joint this side of the Red River, did the best I could with Walmart's, and without a working BBQ pit. (4 hours at 270F, wrapped and sealed in tin foil in the gas oven ... gotta do with what you got)

This is what was left for last night (bones went in the freezer for future bone broth).
Would love to have Black's version at least one more time, that's the real Texas BBQ!

This spot is quite popular. We were there for about an 2 hours the line never got smaller. IIRC beef ribs were $30 a pound, brisket was $34. We ordered too much and I have one bed rib and 3/4 pound of brisket in tne fridge. It was still more than I expected, I was thinking about 1/2 that
