Watching foreign news gives one a perspective on the global use of the English language. It is mostly flawless in India, Japan, and most first world democracies. When they cut to a clip of US produced news you hear ebonics, creaky voice, vocal fry, and an abundance of fillers such as, umm, err, ahh. Throw away lines, the bottom line is, you know, I mean, basically, actually.

Why, err, do they, umm speak to the lowest, ahh denominator, you know.

    We is a sharing!

    Right now?

FIFTEEN FEET of water at the Emsworth Dam (first lock on the Ohio)

Normal is Thirteen and a half feet....

On its way to Baton Rouge!
Well, apparently, the porch pirates have robbed us again! Lol! Or, if you shipped via Amazon, they failed, AGAIN, to deliver on the time they promised. Relief is in sight (maybe) Sunday night.

They say....ONE BILLION GALLONS of water goes over the Emsworth Dam, daily...

At a foot & half "high"? Guessing more like One & a Quarter Billion/Daily these last couple weeks...

The Ohio Valley is its own "weather system"....

The "Point" (dahntahn Picksburg) is at 755' of elevation...It is 1500 miles, by River to New Orleans...(almost 750 to Cairo)

Six inches of "fall" per mile....

Her and her egg sack have been removed from existence. I can deal with most creepy crawlys, but I'm not risking it. I've been bit by a recluse before, not going figure out how a widow bite is if I can help it.
