    I hate when computers die.

    Reinstall OS. Fail twice until I remember that overwriting LUKS-encrypted boot drives can be a little tricky. In the process, manage to delete a partition that enabled me to access 8TB of data on another drive. Finally get it installed and begin setting up applications, recovering passwords, and installing hardware. That'll take the rest of the day, on and off.

    Tomorrow I'll tackle restoring the 8TB of data from backup.

    Fun times when I've got plenty of other stuff I'd rather be doing. :(

    ETA: I went with Fedora this time. We'll see how that works out.

    Alienware laptop's motherboard went tits up 6 months ago.

    Despite multiple data backups and ISO image files, off and onsite, still dealing with MSFTS BS when attempting reinstalling the OS and having everything work.

    Used to be easier, even before PnP days ...
