2009. I was on a train from Yokosuka to Tokyo. All the doors were open from one car to the next. As I usually did, I was looking out the windows at the sights of Japan. At one point I could see down through all the cars, and all the people I could see were hunched over staring at their phones. I thought "that's pathetic, I'm glad it's not that way in America."

I had my phone turned off before I went to Japan, it took me 6 months after I got back to decide to turn it back on. Now I'm reminded about that day on the train to Tokyo when I enter my classroom at the start of class.

Thank you. She was the only one to test positive, the rest of us are negative. So she is hanging out in her room and we brought a TV in for her. We will see if the rest of us end up with it or not.
